MING PLATE ON STAND - 16TH
The Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) blue and white ceramic plate was discovered on the wreck of a Chinese shipwreck that sank off the coast of Borneo in the 16th century. The dark blue colour was fired from cobalt pigment. This rare find, which represents a significant discovery in underwater archaeology, marks the major sea routes traversed by merchant ships and is a unique artefact.
